heaven

This one’s for the girls! Whether you are thirteen or ninety-three, it’s all about us. All right it’s true that we are women. In fact I’m very proud to be called a woman. But I have to admit, there is a young "girl" deep within me and I like her just as well. I believe an ageless spirit of youth and beauty can reside within all women.

For purposes of this article, I will interchange the terms "girl" and "woman." My intention is to respect al l women, regardless of age, as well as every personality type. We are all unique. It’s a celebration of our femininity, sisterhood, and individuality. In this article, I will discuss the foundation for a great bust line. I would personally like to invite you to this fun, informative, and titillating "girl talk." Who This Program Is For:

She is bombarded by the images of beautiful breasts in the media.
She may have had a baby and wants to offset sagging.
She is contemplating plastic surgery but is afraid of negative results or can’t afford it.
She does not want plastic surgery but wants a beautiful bust line.
She may have had implants and wants to do everything she can to keep her bust line attractive. Implants can sag, too.
She wants to learn about breast health without being frightened.
She would love to learn about bras because secretly she gets lost in the lingerie department.
She has large breasts and needs an uplift.
She has small breasts and wants them to appear larger.
She is young.
She is mature.
She is you.’

How It Works: Let me share my secret with you on how to have Your Best Bust possible with what you’ve been given. This is truly a firm approach to a tiptop shape. We strive so hard to look younger. We use creams, cosmetics, diets, and exercises of all types. All of that is great. You shouldn’t quit a good health and beauty regimen. However, all too often we forget the bust. Yet it is the upper body that in many cases shows the first signs of aging.

My program is purely natural. It will help you improve your surrounding bust-line muscles and upper body so that you can obtain a more youthful appearance without the expense or medical complications of plastic surgery. Even if you already have implants, or are considering them, this program is beneficial for you. With implants your body has an even larger weighted mass (the implants) which gravity pulls down. This will eventually result in sagging. With this program, you’ll learn Your Best Bust exercises, bare facts on Your Best Bust bra fit and bra history and styles as well as valuable information on Your Best Bust wellness. Throughout it all we’ll stress the alluring power of the beauty you have within.

Before we begin, let’s get a couple of things straight. First of all, the breast consists of fatty and glandular or adipose tissue. Exercise will not increase mammary tissue. However, and this is the exciting part, you can firm and tone the muscles that provide the support for the bust. Imagine, if you will, that the breast is a shelf. If the support clamps (muscles) holding the shelf up are not strong then the shelf will droop. Fortunately these exercises can give the appearance of the uplift and fullness that you want. Upper back exercises are also included to balance your body and workout. The routine will also include excellent breathing and posture exercises as well as a complete warm-up, workout, and cool-down. This will help offset your breasts from sagging and consequently they will appear larger, firmer, and more youthful.

Secondly, Your Best Bust is not a complete exercise program but it is a necessary addition to your regular workout. Your regular program should include all over body muscular endurance, strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Since the upper body is often neglected in many programs, Your Best Bust is a must Do the complete program at least two or three times a week on alternate days to get results. You could also choose to do the chest exercises one day and the back exercises the next. Just be sure to always include the warm-up before your workout and the cool-down afterwards. No matter what your age or bra size, the time to firm and tone is now!

An Examination of Three Breast Types:

With plastic surgery becoming more common, let’s examine three different breast types. They are the natural breasts, the reduced breast, and the augmented breast. With regard to surgery, it is not my place to determine what is right for you. It is your body. I can assure you, though, that doing the Your Best Bust program will be of major benefit to all three types.

Natural Breasts.
The name says it all. These are the breasts that were predetermined at birth by our genetic makeup. Our shape, sizes, and pigments are varied. We are all unique. That’s what makes the breast such a beautiful part of our anatomy. Learning to love your natural breast is an important part of developing a positive body image. Do not get stuck in the narrow scope of what society calls the "in" breast shape. As you read through article 6 in the bra history section, you will learn how the "in" look has changed throughout the years. Learn to feel confident that your breasts are your own personal "in" shape.

The Reduced Breast.
Some women choose to undergo breast reduction. This surgery makes the breasts smaller. In most cases, these women want to relieve the discomfort that they feel from excessively heavy breasts.

Many women with excessively large breasts experience medical problems. Some of these problems are back and neck pain, breathing problems, skin irritation, and spine misalignment. Breast reduction for some women can improve overall health. Many also say that they are less self-conscious about their breasts after reduction surgery.

If you elect this surgery, be sure that you understand your sense of self. Try to find out what is motivating you. Is it health? Is it the norms of society? Be honest. Consult with your physician. Only after reviewing all of these factors will you be able to make an educated decision.

The Augmented Breast.
When a woman opts to increase or change the shape of her breasts through surgery, it is called breast augmentation. This is done by inserting a breast implant. Women do it for many reasons. For some, it’s a reconstructive technique after breast cancer surgery. Other times, it’s to balance asymmetrical breasts. A majority of breast augmentation surgeries are done for cosmetic reasons. In fact, in the last forty years, approximately 2.5 million women in the United States received breast implants; 80 percent of those women did it for cosmetic reasons.

Every surgery, including breast augmentation, has risks. Make sure you consult with your physician and have all your questions answered. Look within yourself and try to find out Why you are really doing t his. Breast augmentation will not make all your problems go away. Only after you honestly know why you are electing breast augmentation and are aware of the pros and cons will you be able to make an educated decision. The choice is yours.

Your Muscle Fiber Makeup:

It is a pet peeve of mine that women are so afraid to work the chest muscles. Yet we quickly marvel at the defined pees of a buff man’s body. It’s as if we are afraid of losing Our femininity and turning into an extreme body builder with no breast tissue. Rest assured that women in general do not have that kind of genetic muscle-fiber makeup. Unless you are using steroids you won’t become a pumped-up Amazon woman. It just won’t happen. It’s about time women stopped neglecting the chest and back muscles in a workout. It’s just as important to keep those fibers healthy and strong as any other muscle part. The additional benefit is that you’ll be able to celebrate a pretty bust line through toned, shapely muscles that enhance the feminine form. Now you can strut your stuff too.

Skeletal Muscle Fiber Types Understanding the skeletal muscle fibers will help you appreciate why your results are so personal and individual. Muscle fibers consist of the following two types:

1. Slow Twitch Fibers (slow muscle contraction) These fibers work best with aerobic activities (e.g. running). Aerobic means "with oxygen."

2. Fast Twitch Fibers (fast muscle contraction These fibers do not have the aerobic capabilities of slow twitch fibers. Think of fibers used in weightlifting, for example.

Most people have a mix of slow and fast twitch fibers that is distributed fairly evenly throughout their bodies. For world class athletes, the distribution is usually not as balanced. A top professional athlete long distance runner would probably use 60 to 90 percent s low twitch muscle fibers. A world-class power weightlifter would use around 60 to 90 percent fast twitch muscle fibers.

Understanding the composition of muscle fiber types in your body will help you set realistic personal goals for yourself. This doesn’t have to be complicated. For example, if you do best with aerobic activities, you probably have a higher percentage of slow twitch fibers. If strength training is your strength, you probably have a higher percentage of fast twitch fibers. There can even be variations between your different muscle groups, such as more strength in the legs than in the arms. This is all very normal.

Fast and slow twitch fibers are found in both men and women. There is no physiological difference in terms of fiber distribution. In my own experience, I have found that men tend to be naturally stronger (fast twitch) in their upper body than women, while women have relatively stronger legs. Research shows that, although you cannot change a genetic muscle fiber type, you can change the way it responds. Therefore, whether you have a larger percentage of slow or fast twitch fibers in your chest, you can still get realistic positive results. Genetically, if your chest muscles are mostly slow twitch fibers, it may take a little longer to experience any physical change but it will happen. Be patient and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. The message for you is to accept your God-given genetic makeup. Know that whether you have a large amount of fast twitch or slow twitch fibers, you will be able to get a significant improvement in the appearance of your breast.

Basic Breast and Upper Back Anatomy:

Breast Anatomy I’ve already mentioned that the breasts consist of fatty and adipose tissues but let’s take a deeper look at breast anatomy. Each breast is a milk-producing gland. It responds to the interconnection of hormones. The primary hormones in the breasts are estrogen, prolactin, and progesterone. During a woman’s period, these hormones cause glandular tissue in the breasts and in the uterus to change.

Each breast contains several lobes that are covered with fat (the adipose tissue.) The amount of fat will determine your natural breast size and shape. Each lobe is made up of many lobules, which have a small sac at the end. Milk is produced in that little sac when hormones give the signal. The lobes, lobule, and sacs are all tied together by ducts. When a woman is nursing, she can feed her baby milk through the duct openings in the nipples. The pigmented area around the nipple is called the areola.

Now, let’s look at the underlying muscles that make up the chest. They are called pectorals. You have probably heard them called "pees" in slang terms. We will use both terms. The pectoral (chest) muscles are the fan-shaped muscles underneath your breast. In addition to having a major effect on the appearance of your bust line they also function during any arm pushing and hugging movements.

In laywomen terms, the upper pecs (pectoralis major) run diagonally from your collarbone to the top of your arm. The middle pecs (pectoralis minor) run across from the breastbone to the upper arm. This is, of course, simplified but it’s important to work all areas of the chest to get maximum results. Don’t worry I’ve designed the exercises to work the entire chest area and to give you your utmost feminine form .

The latissimus dorsi, or "Iats," make up the largest part of your back. They move up and sideways starting from the lower back and insert in the shoulder areas where they taper off. They create the coveted V-shape in the back. You say you don’t covet a V-shape back? You may think that this is only for the guys. Well, guess what? Strong, firm, and toned lats will not only help your bust line look better but they will give you the appearance of a tinier waistline.

The lats work to pull the arms back. They are critical to good posture and contribute to your upper body appearance. They also work to arch the shoulders and bring them back and down. In real life, the lats combine with a lot of upper arm movements. That’s fine for everyday activities but to strengthen your back, I’m going to ask you to consciously downplay the bicep (upper arm) contraction in the back exercises in article 3. That way we can target the specific lat area.

Trapezius These two muscles fan out from the middle of your back to your shoulders and back in again. They form the shape of a trapezoid. The trapezius muscles work the scapulae (shoulder blades).

Strengthening the trapezius is extra important for bust-line development. You will find that in many of the chest exercises, I’ll ask you to squeeze the shoulder blades together. You will be better equipped to do that with strong trapezius muscles. An added benefit is better upper-body balance. Strong trapezius muscles minimize and eliminate some shoulder pain problems.

Other Back Muscles There are many other back muscles that come into play for movement. Some of them are the rhomboid, the teres major and minor, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, etc. I don’t want to give you more information than you need for the purposes of this article. Know that all the muscles of the back that I’ve selected for this workout are what are needed to your upper body appearance and general health.

Equipment Needed:

Below is a list of all of the equipment needed in the Your Best Bust program . When you get to a specific workout section, I’ll let you know which of these items is necessary at the time. Chair make sure it has a tall back. It should be sturdy enough to stay stable against the resistance of your body weight. Hand-Held Weights-It’s best to start out with light weights, such as two to five pounds. If that is too heavy or if you have never exercised before, try the movements with no weight until you have mastered the correct form. Soup cans are an excellent and inexpensive alternative.

Barbell Not to be confused with the bell on the bar of your local tavern. This is a long bar that can be used with varying degrees of weight or with no weight at all. You can purchase one at a number of sporting goods stores. Broomsticks make a perfect inexpensive alternative. You can use water bottles or milk bottles that have handles on them to create different weight variance. Be sure to switch the side of your body that the broom fibers are on between sets. They add a little bit of weight. Switching sides will help you maintain balance. Adjustable Workout Bench-Home workout benches are relatively inexpensive nowadays. However, if you don’t have one you can use an elevated workout step or a very firm cushion as a substitute. Fitness Mat, Towel, or Rug

Where and When:

The beauty of the Your Best Bust program is that you can do it whenever and wherever is best for you. It works great in the privacy of your own home considering the intimacy of the subject matter and the convenience of being in your own surroundings. However, there is no reason why you couldn’t take this article to the gym with you if that helps to keep you motivated. Several of the moves in this program can even be done in a hot el room where you can use articles in place of weights.

Many experts say that it is best to exercise in the morning. That concept had to have been conceived by a morning person. Since I personally, with a giggle, can say, "I don’t do mornings well," I have to advise you to plan your session time around your own personal needs and schedule. If you are a dynamo in the morning-go for it. Whether you flex better later in the day or in the evening matters not. Wherever, whenever-just be sure to do it.

Mind Over Body Matters:

It has become very trendy in the fitness industry to talk about the mind and body connection. The prevalent thought is that it applies to classes such as yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi, or in a stretch or cool-dow. These classes incorporate a physical move with an inward reflection. The emphasis is on the "process" rather than the goal. In fact, I touch on that type of mind, body, and spirit connection in the attitude section of the cool-down in article 4 .

As you progress through this article, I challenge you to take the mind and body connection to an even higher level. They say we only use one-tenth of our brain. That means there’s plenty of power within you. You have the potential to make that journey a part of your whole life. It goes beyond exercises that were founded in the East. It’s viewing life in a holistic way, which means everything is connected. This whole article is connected to you and the results will be far better if you put your mind to it. It’s really quite simple. Throughout this program, think about your breath. Think about the exercises. Think about the muscles you are moving. Think about the moment that you are in right now!

Use the moment to DO!
Do the exercises.
Do take care of your breast wellness.
Do select the right bra.
Do love yourself.

Don’t let outward distractions stand in the way of inner calmness, confidence, and peace. Granted, this skill sometimes takes a while to develop. But even if I’ve just made you a little more aware of your untapped energy, then my moment with you is worth it and you and I are connected. I can’t think of a better place to start such an intimate, loving, and personal relationship with yourself than within the articles of Your Best Bust

Workout Choices:

The wonderful thing about this program is that it offers a lot of flexibility to fit your lifestyle. Girl you have choices’

You can do the complete warm-up workout and cool-down two to three times a week on alternate days.

You can turn the aerobic warm-up in article 2 into a complete cardiovascular workout by increasing the duration of your selected activity to thirty minutes or more. Gradually increase intensity at the start of your activity (warmup) and gradually decrease your activity (cool down) at the end of the activity. Remember this is something to do in addition to and not in place of the Your Best Bust program.

Posture and breathing exercises in article 5 should be done at least twice a week. Do not eliminate the work in choice one.

Article 3 can be divided into the chest section and the upper back section. Each section must be done two to three times a week. It’s OK to split them up and do them on different days. However, never do the same muscle group two days in a row. Always include the warm-up and cool-down in articles 2 and 4 respectively.

The warm-up and cool-down can be done as often as you like. Many women enjoy the relaxing effect that these exercises have and the increased flexibility that they offer. They are a treat! When planning your workout week enjoy them all as a healthy bonus, but for Your Best Bust results, do not eliminate the exercises in article 3 or those in article 5 for posture and breathing.

Beauty Food

in Beauty Tips

my mushroom cheese bread

We’d all love to possess a radiant glowing skin, thick lustrous hair, healthy nails & bright sparkling eyes. The food that we eat is of utmost importance to achieve this goal. Less water causes blotchy, dull skin & acne. Consume 7-8 glasses of water daily. Replace refined flour with whole grains as during the refining process, the Vit B, proteins & fibres are removed. A balanced diet of proteins, carbohydrate and fats with the required amount of minerals and vitamins is essential for good, healthy looks.

Proteins: The proteins are needed for repair of body tissues. The skin and hair need enough protein and the deficiency causes dull and dry skin and scalp. Vegetarians specially need to plan their diets carefully to include protein rich foods such as soya beans, sprouts, cheese, paneer, milk, grains, peas & beans. Freshly made paneer from toned milk is an excellent source o(protein for the vegetarian. Sprouted moong and kala channas are enormously rich in nutrition as both the Vitamin B and C content increases as much as 40% during sprouting. Dalia for breakfast is another good way of meeting the protein requirements. If porridge sounds to drab, make it interesting by adding the fruit of your choice to it. Include yoghurt in your meals. This dairy product contains bacteria which keeps the intestines clean, giving a healthy glow to your skin.

Carbohydrates: Sugar is one of those carbohydrate rich foods which has no value. On the contrary, it can cause acne, poor circulation and obesity. So instead of sugar, add brown sugar or honey to your diet. Both help purify blood and cleanse the body of toxins. Other refined carbohydrates like cause the problem are white flour and white bread in which the nutrients such as vitamins and fibre get removed during refining. These thus largely provide empty calories. Excess carbohydrate which is not needed to supply immediate energy demands, is stored as fat. So, avoid white bread and nan etc, instead opt for brown bread and whole wheat flour chapattis.

Fat : You need very little fat, but a little is necessary for good circulation and supple & soft skin.

Vitamin: Fresh fruits And vegetable are rich in vitamins, the deficiency of which causes lusterless hair and a dull complexion.

Vitamin A is an important Vitamin for over all health & beauty of your body. It encourages bright, healthy eyes, contributes to hair growth & discourages dandruff, keeps your skin healthy & prevents acne and also makes nails strong. A deficiency of Vitamin A causes rough scaly skin, brittle nails & inflamed eye lid.

Vitamin A is found in pineapple, mango, strawberries, carrots, spinach, tomatoes, green leafy, milk, cream, cheese, butter, yoghurt, chicken & fish.

A shortfall in Vitamin B might cause acne, excessive weight, dandruff, falling hair, and malfunctioning of the digestive system

Vitamin B is found in meat, liver, fish, poultry, lentils, cabbage, peas, beans, potatoes, coconut, milk, tomato, orange, bran, oatmeal, rye, almonds, nuts, peanuts.

Inadequate quantities of Vitamin C cause skin eruptions. If taken in sufficient amounts, this Vitamin cures health problems, helps reduce weight, and encourages healthy bones, gums and body tissue. Vitamin C is present in tomatoes, potatoes, carrot, turnips, cabbage, lemon, oranges, grapes, bananas, mangoes, amlas.

Adequate supply help of Vitamin D prevents premature ageing. The deficiency of this vitamin can cause rickets, acne and brittle bones. Vitamin D is present in Cod liver oil, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs. Besides helping cure hair problems, Vitamin E aids fertility and prevents premature ageing. Vitamin E is present in eggs, vegetable oils, peanut and wheat germ oil, margarine.

Fibre : Fibre is very important. This indigestible carbohydrate is concentrated in the peels & rinds of fruits and vegetables and in the outer layers of grains and pulses. Fibre rich foods promote radiant glossy skin and clear eyes

Herbal Beauty Secrets: When ever you eat any fruit, keep a small piece for your face. Mash it and apply on your face . This way the fruit will work both ways at the same time internally and externally, to give you good health and a beautiful glow to your face. In general the mashed pulp or the juice of all fruits is good for your skin and should be applied regularly at least once a week for a healthy, glowing and a blemish free complexion. These are relaxing, clean the skin and close pores. They stimulate the skin by improving blood circulation.

To Improve Complexion:
Mix 1 tsp atta or besan, 1 tsp cream and paste of 10-12 almonds soaked overnight with little Coconut oil to form a smooth paste. Apply on face. Leave for 20-25 minutes and then wash off. Doing this regularly will improve your complexion tremendously.

Mix equal amounts of almond oil with honey. Apply on face regularly. Keep for 10-15 minutes before washing off. It improves complexion.

Rejuvenating Masks:
Mash a slice of ripe papaya and apply on the face. Leave it for 15- 20 minutes and then wash off. Papaya contains enzymes which soften dead cells and removes them and so it makes an excellent nourishing and a rejuvenating mask.

Mash a ripe apricot and apply pulp or juice on the face and neck or simply take an apricot slice and rub it all over the face and neck. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Apricot has nourishing and firming qualities. It therefore nourishes, rejuvenates and tightens your skin. It also helps in lightening stretch marks and smoothening wrinkles. It is a popular ingredient in many beauty/ cosmetic preparations such as face scrubs, masks etc. It is good for all types of skins.

Nourishing Masks Specially For Dry Skin:

Mash a slice of a ripe peach and apply on the face or rub a peach slice all over your face and neck. An excellent nourishing mask specially for dry skin.

Mix together 1 tablespoons of orange juice with 1/2 tablespoon of honey and apply on the face. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash off. A good moisturizing and toning mask for dry skins. Alternately you can add some multani mitti to the face mask pack. Increase the amount of honey & orange juice to get a smooth paste.

Hair Care

August 28, 2009 Beauty Tips

IMG_0363

An effective hair care discipline involves cleansing, toning, conditioning and oiling routines carried out in a systematic fashion.

Cleansing: Regular shampooing of hair frees it from dirt, thus cleansing it and giving it the much desired shiny look. But shampoos must be selected cautiously, according to your hair type  normal, oily or dry. For a specific hair type, a specific shampoo has to be used.

Toning: Gentle massage of the hair leads to hair toning. It helps to stimulate the blood circulation leading to a healthy growth.

Conditioning: This is the most vital part of hair care. It aims at correcting the imbalance, caused due to harsh cleansing, sun or application of harsh chemicals such as hair lotions.

Oiling: Oiling at least once a week is necessary which improves the quality of hair. It strengthens the hair roots, removes dryness in hair, gets rid of dandruff and repairs hair damage. The application of oil also facilitates the massage which helps in the circulation of blood. This inturn is responsible for good hair.

Precautions to be taken after a hair wash: After a hair wash, let your hair down and wrap the hair with a towel to blot out some of the moisture, Rubbing causes split ends and tugging wet hair pulls out the hair. Do not brush your hair immediately. After your hair dries partially, comb it slowly with a wide toothed comb. This avoids tangles. A final rinse after shampoo, of 1 tablespoon vinegar added to a mug of tap water gives shine to the hair. Throw your hair down, gradually pour it on the head, rubbing it gently with the fingers.

Give Bounce To Thin Hair: Never think of backcombing your hair to give it some body and bounce. Instead, after washing your hair, dry hair with a towel. While still damp, bend and throw down the hair. Move your fingers in the hair or brush the hair from the roots to the tip. Take the hair on the left side to the right and vice versa. Now take the hair back with a jerk and stand up as you do so. Repeat a few times and see the difference.

Hair Styling - To Roll Hair: Outward Curls : Take a section of hair according to the size of the roller. Place the roller at the bottom of that strand of hair, on the hair and roll up. Fix with the cap. You may use Indian rollers or imported hot rollers. Indian rollers come in a box having 12 rollers and are quite cheap and easily available..

For Indian rollers: The hair should be damp or you may apply gel to dry hair and then fix the rollers in thin sections of hair. If the rollers are not firm , use bob pins to make them stick properly. Using a hair dryer, give hot air to each roller for 5-7 minutes. To open the rollers, remember to keep the rollers vertical (straight) while opening. If you open holding the roller horizontal as it is fitted, the curl will never come out properly, Leave the hair to cool completely before you give it a final brush, or you will brush out the curl

Imported rollers: These are hot rollers, They have about 20 rollers and cost around Rs, 2,500, The rollers are heated through electricity and thin sections of hair are rolled in each roller. These are then kept for 15 minutes,

How To Use Gel On Hair: Gel is applied before you set the hair or blow dry the hair. The hair stays in place if gel is applied and then the hair is set Take 1 teaspoon of gel on the palm, Mix a few drops of water and dip fingers in it Run the fingers in your hair to apply gel.

Blow Dry: You can make rolls with a brush without using rollers. After washing hair, dry them till slightly damp . Divide hair into two halves. Divide each half into three sections. Take first section near the ear and roll in a brush. Put hot air through a dryer. Open the brush vertically (straight). Pin up this section. Take the next and then the third. Finally roll all three together and blow dry. Open, holding the brush vertically. Similarly do the other side. Leave the hair to cool completely before you give it a final brush, or you will brush out the curls.

Saloon Techniques you can Use at Home: Here are some hair-dresser’s techniques which you can learn to use at home to help create and maintain styles.

Finger-combing: Finger-combing works best on short wiry or curly hair and gives volume and shape. Apply styling mousses all over, then use your fingers as you use a hairbrush, running your fingers through your hair in the direction your hairstyle should move. You can finger-comb using a blow dryer or dry naturally.

Scrunching: Scrunching works on short or medium length hair which is slightly layered. It gives that tousled, soft look. To scrunch your hair whilst drying encourages lift at the roots. Grab your hair at the scalp in a fist, slightly open your fingers and blow warm air into the hair. Use styling mousse for a longer-lasting "scrunched" look.

Twist-Setting: A super technique for rippling long hair. You can get this crimped effect easily with either man-sized tissues or pieces of cloth. Have your hair slightly damp (after shampooing is good). Divide off large sections. Hold each one at the end and twist it along its length. Now, wind the twisted section around a soft tube, made from the tissue Secure the roll up by tying the ends of the tissue together. Dry your hair naturally or blow-dry if you’re in a hurry.

Cover grey hair And make the color last longer: It is generally seen that as the hair grows more grey, the henna you always applied starts looking too red. It does not appeal any longer. Here is an excellent remedy. Take some dried amla and roast it till it turns nearly black, preferably in an iron kadhai. Cool and powder it. Sieve the powder and store. To make henna take a large beetroot. Grate and add 2 cups water. Boil. Keep boiling till the water turns maroonish in color. Cool and sieve. This water can be made with 4-5 betroots and stored in a bottle in the fridge. Use it when required.

To make henna paste: Take henna 1 part, 1/2 part roasted & powdered amla, 1 tsp coffee powder, some strong tea water & make a paste with the beetroot water. Keep the paste overnight. Next day apply on hair. Keep for 3-4 hours. Wash off only with water. When the hair dries, oil the hair & leave the oil overnight. Next day shampoo. In the beginning apply this henna mixture every 4-5 days for 2-3 months and after that you will need to apply it only once in 20-25 days. This mixture gives a lovely brown color. However it will take a few applications before you get this color.

Special Effect With Liner For Smoky Big Eyes

August 27, 2009 Beauty Tips

my eyes

Experiment with two different shades of eye liner. Run a pencil of a light grey, green, brownish red (according to the color of your dress) on the lower eyelashes first, especially the outer corner of the eye. Now put a black kajal in the inner eye (rim) . You will now have well defined beautiful eyes with a hint of color and black. Shimmer is in fashion. Shimmery eye liners are usually applied on a black base liner or according to your dress on the upper eye lid.

Length of Upper Eye Liner: The eye liner may be applied up to different lengths. There is no hard and fast rule as to what suits a certain set of eyes. All you can do is to try and experiment till you find out what suits you. Try different lengths of upper eye liner to see what suits you, the upper line can be:

Kajal: Good kajal sticks give that dreamy look to your eyes. Put kajal on the lower rim of the eyes to complete the soft look. If liner is applied over the kajal put on the lower rim, it defines the eyes very well. Open your eyes and apply the kajal inside the eye, next to the lower lash line. You may wear your kajal along the full length of the eye or even keep it shorter 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 of the eye.

Tip: To make small eyes look bigger put only 1/2 length starting from middle to the outer corner of the eye.

Mascara: After kajal, mascara follows. Everyone can take a little help from this cosmetic. It makes the lashes appear thicker and longer. Before applying mascara, remove all excess mascara on the brush by rubbing it on the sides of the bottle. There is a definite technique to applying mascara. First apply it on the top side of the upper lashes, stroking the color down. Then on the underside of the top lashes, stroking the color up. Avoid using the wand on the lower lashes for daytime; do so only for an ‘event’ evening. Apply two coats. Let the first coat dry completely; then apply the second coat, for two thin coats look more natural than one thick coat.

Mascara On Lower Lashes: Apply mascara on the lower lashes with the tip of the brush only, separating each lash as you go. The lower eye lashes are scanty and difficult to see, so you may put a piece of face tissue touching the lower eye line, so that the eye lashes are easily visible on the tissue paper. Use a moist cotton bud to pick up any drippings of the mascara.

Colored Mascara: If you are bold enough, try putting on a blue or brown mascara on your lashes after applying a coat of black mascara, for a stunning look.

Tip To Remove Mascara: Mascara must be removed very carefully to avoid damaging the delicate skin around the eyes. Try removing the final traces of mascara with a cotton bud dipped in cleanser.

Make Up for Different Eye Shapes:

Close Set Eyes: Apply eye shadow to the upper eyelids, blending the shadow upwards and outwards towards the outer corner of the eyes. Continue to blend until the shadow is considerably fainter in the area of the nose and the eye and somewhat darker at the outer corner. Line the eyes, leaving the inner corners of the eyes. Increase the distance between the eyebrows by removing hair in-between to make them appear wider apart.

Deep Set Eyes: Use a lighter shade of foundation immediately above the socket area of the upper eyelids and blend well. Do not use eye shadow as the sunken effect will increase instead of decreasing.

Drooping Eyes: They can be given a lift by tilting the eyeliner upwards and outwards before it reaches the outer corner of the upper lid. The shadow should be winged upwards avoiding the area at the outer corner of the eyes.

Round Eyes: Make them appear longer by extending eye shadow and liner beyond the outer corner of the eyes. Blend the corner well for a soft look.

Bulging Eyes: Use a dark shadow and blend it carefully over the prominent part of the upper lids carrying it lightly to the line of the brows.

Small Eyes: They can look larger by using two shades of shadow. Use a light shade on the upper eye lid and a darker shade on the crease. Apply the lower eye liner and kajal from the middle to the outside of the eye.

Eyebrows

August 27, 2009 Beauty Tips

up close eye bell bottom blue pigment, talent pool, parrot, beautiful iris purple mac eyeshadow on a green eye

Brush eyebrows upwards with a small brow brush. If they are scanty, use a sharp eyebrow pencil with soft feathery strokes and blend for a more natural look.

Right Length of Eyebrows: Starting Point: Look straight in the mirror. To see where brows should start, hold a pencil vertically against one nostril. Where the pencil meets your brow is a good starting point. Repeat on the other side.

Right Endings: Hold a pencil vertically against one nostril. Angle it so that it aligns with the outer corner of the eye. Where the pencil hits the brow is where it should end.

Thin Eyebrows:
1.
Use a eye pencil to color brow.
2. Move the pencil in the opposite direction of the hair growth to avoid harsh lines. Don’t change their natural shape. Make very gentle strokes. Then brush with an eyebrow brush or use a comb to put the hair in place.
3. The eyebrow should begin parallel with the inner corner of the eye and end just beyond the eye.
4. The strokes should be gentle. You could even draw in individual hair between your natural hair.

Do Your Eye Make up in this Order:

Should I apply the kajal first or the colored definer, or should it be the eye shadow first or the eyeliner? Eye make up is quite tricky and should be done with great care. Powder your eye lids, eye lashes, in fad your entire eye area with translucent powder before make up. This sequence of eye make up will be a great f help.

1. High Lighter and Eye shadow: Brush high lighter of a very light shade of the eye shadow on the brow bone, more towards the outer corner of the eyes for a shimmer. Brush a complimentary shade of eye shadow evenly over the eye lids only.

2. Eye Liner (Kohl pencil or liquid eyeliner): Run the brush or pencil on the upper and lower lash line. You may extend the lines a little on the outside of the eye, with the pencil if you want to make your eyes elongated.

3. Kajal : is applied on the lower inner rim of the eye and it can be started from the inner most corner or from the middle to the outer corner of the eye. Choose the length which suits you.

4. Mascara: The final step of eye make up. There is no such thing as too much mascara. You may sweep several coats on the lashes for thicker lashes.

Note: Remember to remove your lenses before removing eye make up.

Eye Should For The Casual Look: The shadow is applied only on the upper eyelid, leaving the space beneath the brows. If you wish, you may apply some shadow on the lower lash line to add color. Close your eye while applying the shadow. Start from the centre of the eye lid near the lashes and go upwards till the crease of the lid, leaving the space beneath the brows. Apply some eye shadow with a thin brush, lightly beneath the eyes, next to the lower lash line, starting from the middle to the outer corner of the eye.

Eye Should For The Evening Make Up: Use two shades of the same color for that exotic look. The inner corner of the eye area is lighter in shade and the shadow deepens in color towards the outer eye.

1. Apply the light shade starting from the inner corner of the eye covering the lid and below the brow bone.
2. Now apply the dark shade on the lighter shade, from the centre and brush till the end of the eyebrow.
3. Finally blend the two colors properly in the middle where the shades meet.

Eye Should For The Party Make Up: Your eye shadow kit may contain 3 shadows a very light shade like (vanilla, very pale pink, beige, silver grey etc.) which is the high lighter and which gives a light shimmer on the brow bone and highlights it. The box has two more shades of the same color.

1. Put the very light shade (high lighter) on the space beneath the brows up to the crease of the eye lid (leaving the eye lid.)
2. Apply the medium shade on the upper eyelid only.
3. And the darkest shade on the crease of the eyelid, that is the place almost in the middle of the total eye area above the lashes and beneath the brows. Blend both the colors well.

4. With the tip of a fine brush, apply a little shadow beneath the eyes, along the lower lash line. Smudge it lightly to give your eyes a subtle, glamorous look.

Eye Liners: Next comes lining pencils. Choose the color you like  black to soft greys or shimmery silver or golden. liquid eye liners which give a well defined line are back in fashion. If you like a well defined line on the lids, go in for liquid eye liners. You need practice and a steady hand to get a smooth line. However, the unsteady line may be corrected with the help of a damp cotton bud. Eye writers are available which are as simple as using a pencil. These help you line the eye lids neatly. The correct way to use an eye liner is outside the eye, just along the lash line with absolutely no gap. Line the upper lash line by running the pencil over the upper lashes leaving the inside corner of the eyes. In the same way run the pencil over the lower lashes, keeping the length which suits you. Lower your eyelids to see that no space (skin) shows below the line. To apply the liner, always start from the middle of the eye to the outer corner and then starting at the inner corner, draw a line to join the line in the middle. Eye liner applied this way will come out neatly and will stay dark and true for longer.

The soft, smudged look also looks good on some people. It depends on the individual liking. For such a look, line the eyes with a pencil and then blend the pencil very well with a brush to get the soft smudged look. Tip: To make eyes look bigger, layer a faint liquid eyeliner in black over black eye pencil on the lower eye lashes.

2. Apply a lighter shade of blusher on the bone area to give a high cheek bone effect.
3. You may apply a little regular blusher to the nose, left forehead and chin.

To Shorten a Long Face:

2. Avoid the blusher on temples.
3. Apply lightly on forehead to distract the length of the face and apply a hint on the chin to reduce length.

Natural Make Up:

"Cold Compression for the Natural Look". To look as if you are not wearing make up, dip a flat 3 inch square piece of cotton wool in chilled water and squeeze well between the palms of your hands. Very lightly pat the face with it. This cold compression gives a natural look to the face and the make up stays longer without getting spoilt. This is done before the eye and lip make up and after you have applied the foundation, powder and blusher. It sets the foundation , powder and blusher.

Note: If you are in a hurry, just pat your face with a damp towel which you just finished using for Your bath.

Concealers

August 26, 2009 Beauty Tips

 revenge

Concealers come in shades to match every skin tone. These diminish the presence of pimples, marks and dark circles under the eyes. Concealers may be liquid, cream or solid (stick) . Moisturize your face first for easier application. To prevent concealer from setting into fine lines, wipe away excess. Blot with a tissue for a matte finish. Whether you’re white or black, your concealer should also have yellow tones. It suits black skin better. Don’t use a concealer that’s white or more than half a shade lighter than your skin tone. Try for an exact match. Apply before foundation. Set the concealer with powder.

Tip: Sometimes after the use of concealer, foundation may be avoided.

Powder: Powder gives a finished, shine free look to make up. It ’sets’ the foundation. It comes in two varieties loose powder and compact. The loose powder is best for a finished poreless look, but when you’re on the go, compact (pressed powder) will give you a soft, beautiful look anytime. Loose powder is applied with a puff where as the compact is applied with a brush using downward movements, to minimize the impact of facial hair. The powder helps your make up look ‘just-put-on’ (fresh) much longer by stopping oil from coming through. Pat or brash powder after foundation. Never rub powder on your face. Let it set for a few seconds, then, gently dust off the excess with the brush. Do not use the puff of the compact. Use a proper puff or a thick powder brush to powder yourself. On casual days, if foundation feels like too much, a little powder helps make your skin look more flawless and helps keep the shine (oiliness) away. The Shade Of Powder Select a powder of your skin tone color or just a shade lighter than your skin tone. If your skin happens to be pale, then choose a powder with a rosy beige tint. If you are going to use it over foundation, go in for a translucent powder.

Powder On Mature Skin: Avoid powder on fine lines under your eyes. The powder may collect in the lines, making them more prominent.

Blushers: Always start by using a little blusher and gradually build color to get the desired effect. Remember, it is difficult to remove the excess blusher, and always easier to add more to get the vibrant look. There are two types of blushers, the cream and powder blushers.

Powder Blusher Use It After Applying Powder: Powder blushers suit all skin and are especially good for oily skin, If you prefer the matte finish, use a powder blusher after setting your make up with powder. Dust the excess blusher from the brush. Begin with circular motion on the cheeks and then sweep across the cheek bone towards the hair line. Keep color within the apple of your cheeks. (The apple is the raised portion of the cheek, when you smile).

Cream Blusher Use It Before Applying Powder: Cream blushers are good for dry skin. Dot some blusher with your finger tip on the centre of your cheek. Put 2 more dots in an upward and outward slant line towards the temples. (Temples are the sides of the forehead). Gently blend it upwards and outwards with the fingers within the apple of your cheeks. (The apple is the raised portion of the cheeks when you smile). Now brush or pat powder

Note: For mature skin, a matte finish with powder blushers is ideal.

Your Shade Of Blusher: Your shade of blusher will depend upon your complexion. Lighter shade of blushers are for lighter skins and darker blushers are for dark skins. Rosy pinks are not so much in fashion. Rosy beiges and rosy browns suit the black complexion more. Blushers should be blended well to avoid a blob like appearance. Your blusher should also match with your lipstick. A blusher with a hint of pink looks good with a pink lipstick. With a brown lipstick, go for a peaches blusher with a hint of brown for a darker complexion and beige for a lighter one.

Skin Care……Preparing Your Face For Make Up

August 26, 2009 Beauty Tips

The Most Beautiful Edwardian Girl (1911)

Before thinking of make up, let’s think of skin care. This involves looking after your skin and preparing the skin for receiving make up. A healthy, well cared skin is the ideal base for make up. So we can say that skin care is the first step to good make up.

Fallow this 3 minute before applying make up for fresh and bright face.

1. Start by applying cleansing milk on the face and neck with your fingers. Gently massage with your fingers in an outward and circular motion for a few seconds. Wipe off with a damp piece of cotton wool or splash water on your face, to get a perfectly clean face. Pat dry with a clean towel to dry the face.

Caution: Never stretch or pull your skin while applying or removing the cleansing milk. Use the ring finger to massage around the eyes. Move the ring finger from the inner corner of the eye to the outside and then under the eyebrows with extremely light and feathery strokes.

2. Follow up with a toner. To remove the greasiness which appears on the face after the use of cleansing milk, you definitely need to use a toner. Put a few drops of toner on a piece of cotton wool and apply it on the face and leave it on. It contracts muscles, refines (shrinks) pores, absorbs all the oil and grease immediately, leaving behind a fresh, radiant skin. Use it to see the immediate difference it makes to your complexion!

Tip: For extra oily skins, use astringent Lotion instead of a toner. An astringent is a strong toner which effectively removes excessive oiliness besides toning and refreshing the skin.

3. Finally, use a moisturizer with your finger tips on your skin to make it soft, smooth and glowing. It also provides longer wear for make up. It takes care of your skin by not only putting back your skin’s lost moisture but also preventing further moisture loss. It also helps in the next application the foundation, which spreads more easily if applied over the moisturizer, making the foundation blend smoothly with the skin.

Tip: For a healthy, well preserved skin, follow the basic 3 minute skin care routine of cleansing, toning, moisturizing also at the end of the day to remove dust and stale make up. So, remember to follow this routine twice a day before make up and to remove make up at the end of the day. Remember to always use a sunscreen during the day time on top of the moisturizer. This will protect the skin from pollution, sun damage and dehydration.

Sequence of Complete Make up:
1.
Wash face with cleansing milk as given on page 10.
2. Apply a toner as given on page 11.
3. Apply moisturizer as given on page 12.
4 . Start by using a little foundation so as to get a very thin layer of foundation to even out your skin color. You may even use a cover stick or concealed to conceal marks, dark circles and blemishes.
5. Brush powder for the matte finish as it controls oiliness.
6. Blush your cheeks, according to your face shape.
7. Do up your eyes with shadow, liner, kajal and lastly mascara.
8. Finish by defining the lips with a lip pencil and lipstick.

Removing Male up Post Make up:
1.
Put eye makeup remover on a cotton ball to take off eye makeup. This routine is very important as it avoids unnecessary tugging of the eye area.
2. Use cleansing milk with cotton wool to take off surface makeup.
3. Face foaming wash can then be used to take off remnants of the cleansing milk and pollution.
4. Toning should be done straight after cleansing, as it balances the PH level of the skin.

5. To finish, apply a moisturizer.
Note: Even if your skin is oily, a moisturizer is important after washing the face with soap to avoid dryness.
