Q. For several years I have had a bad odor around the penis area. I have white skin around the head of the penis. I have gone to doctors and I only get a cream to put around it. I would like to know what this is.
A. It is probably smegma, which is the normal secretion of the glands. If not cleaned every day it will give off a bad odor and also act as a medium for bacterial and fungal growth, leading to further bad smell.

There are many reasons for the odour. The following are some:
1. The odour is created by glands to attact females.
2. There might be small traces of urine left after you pee. The best thing is to wash your penis each time after you pee and get circumsized to remain clean and hygienic.
3. If the odour has appeared suddenly and is unbearable, plz see your doctor. It might be a small infection which can be treated with some medicine.

It is likely that you are uncircumsized. Nothing wrong with that, infact there are many benefits to it. It does however require extra care. You must wash and clean around this area very well everyday. If you are experiencing jock itch along with bad oder then there is likely candida.
