Most cosmetic companies employ serious chemists who are taking skin needs and skin type into account. And products are usually formulated and developed with specific skin types in mind. But when they are marketed, this mayor may not be clear from the advertising copy, which sometimes contains language that reads as though the product is right for everybody. Always read the label carefully. Even if the advertising copy doesn’t give any indication of the skin type for which it was developed, the list of ingredients should give you a clue. Sometimes these messages are a bit subtle, but they may be there. Another example of this is promotional copy that doesn’t inform a customer that a particular product- often a cream or lotion-contains coal tar colors and was not formulated to be applied to the eye area. Here are some hints for finding the ingredients that are best for you.
