Many cosmetic manufacturers, most of which do not have names that are immediately recognizable, manufacture cosmetics for other companies. These companies are known as private labels. When you go into a boutique and see a line of cosmetics with the boutique’s name on it, chances are that they are private label cosmetics. The products often have a sticker in gold or silver pasted on them. Even though they are packaged the same way, the name is different from boutique to boutique. These lines are often quite good and quite reasonably priced. However, because pricing is left to the individual store or label, the costs of the same product can be quite disparate. In some cases the manufacturers also make products for larger companies. There are also some small manufacturers that produce only their own brand. These may be very successful in a particular region.
